IxD, for me, is a very broad and universal field. When I took my first HCI lesson in college, the professor asked us to describe an interface, and noticed us that an interface doesn’t need to be an app or website screen. It can be a chair, a pen, or anything… When you are sitting on the chair, you’re interact with it: Interactions between human and objects are happening everywhere. In my understanding, IxD is a process of how to design and refine these interactions, to help users understand the ways they interact with objects better and easier, to create a enjoyable experience of interaction. The rapid development of technology has given interaction more possibilities as well as complexities. This huge potential bring me into this field.
