We list out the problems we found in our observation, and sort them under 5 major categories to identify top usability barriers.

Top Usability Barriers:
1. Adding/subtracting value is complicated and troublesome.
2. Checking and calculating fare is difficult.
3. The functions of ticket and Clipper Card is not clear.
4. Purchasing multiple tickets is complicated.
5. The home screen is confusing.
6. Overall flow is complicated (Too many decisions, back and forth, and information overflow).
Task flows:
We redesign the overall flow and draw optimal flows for three tasks, including "Buy Tickets", "Add Value to Clipper Card", and "Purchase Clipper Card". With the new design, we solve most of the major problems, and simplify the overall flow. The optimal flows involve less decisions, and are more simple and linear.
Task 1: Buy Ticket(s)

Task 2: Add Value to Clipper Card

Task 3: Purchase New Clipper Card

UI Screens for Optimal Flows
We develop UI screens to show the optimal task flows:
Task1: Buy tickets

Task 2: Add Value to Clipper

Task 3: Purchase New Clipper Card
