Reflection:

In this case, we create a complete real-life context, by sketching the product snapshot and provisional persona. Thus, we can actually understand the situation from customer’s perspective. It is helpful that we find the problems by understanding people’s behaviors and needs. It is also very inspiring that we sketch 6 uses in a few minutes. This exercise help us develop our creativity and problem solving ability. Besides, the pair review is useful that we can listen to other people’s opinion towards our own design ideas, as well as exploring other design opportunities by looking at other people’s work.

I was surprised that we can produce so many ideas in such a short time. When we place ourselves into the situation, we can think much more than we as outsiders. I was also surprised by the diversity of our design work during the pinup. There were problems I never thought of, or solutions I didn’t come up with. This is very impressive.
